As part of the Graduate Program at Volvo Group, you will tackle real challenges from day one and contribute to the development of next-generation production solutions.

The 15-month Graduate Program combines 50% time in your home department with 50% dedicated program activities, giving you broad exposure across Volvo Group. Through local and international rotations, short-term assignments, and targeted training in areas such as operations, engineering, and purchasing, you will build a strong understanding of our business, brands and strategy. Your future team

The ECU Purchasing team buys the Electronic Control Units used in vehicles, powertrains, and gearboxes. The team works with suppliers and internal teams such as engineering, quality, projects, and supply chain to select the right solutions, agree competitive prices, follow supplier performance, support projects, reduce costs, and manage risks such as component shortages or obsolete technology.

How you’ll contribute

You will be supporting the development and execution of ECU sourcing strategies, securing competitive cost, quality, delivery, innovation, and supply resilience through effective supplier and stakeholder collaboration.

Key responsibilities:

Help prepare ECU sourcing strategies by collecting information about market trends, new technologies, business needs, and potential suppliers.

Support supplier selection by preparing requests for quotation, comparing offers, participating in negotiations, and summarizing recommendations for review.

Follow supplier performance in areas such as cost, quality, delivery, innovation, sustainability, and supply continuity, and help coordinate actions when improvements are needed.

Assist with purchasing activities during the ECU product lifecycle, including development changes, cost-saving opportunities, contract follow-up, and commercial issue resolution.

Help identify purchasing and supply risks, support the preparation of mitigation actions, follow their progress, and raise important issues to the team.

Keep purchasing data, contracts, supplier information, sourcing documents, and reports accurately and up to date.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone with a strong transformation and collaborative mindset who is eager to learn, explore, and understand the business. You thrive in dynamic environments, embrace new challenges and ambiguity, and take ownership of your own development and growth.

With strong analytical skills, you take initiatives and drive tasks forward with determination while bringing fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to the team.

You enjoy building relationships and leveraging a global network to create impact while working collaboratively across teams and functions.
