Project description

## Join our Team About this opportunity: When developing new radio products, production test results must be reviewed to ensure that they meet the defined requirements. Today, this verification is largely done manually, which can be time-consuming and make deviations harder to detect. In this thesis, you will explore how AI can support Ericsson engineers by collecting relevant requirements, comparing them with test results, and highlighting possible deviations. The project will combine AI-based methods with reliable rule-based checks to create a verification process that is efficient, accurate, and traceable. The project is suitable for one or two students. If the project is carried out by two students, there may be an opportunity to include an additional extension related to verification or data consistency. The final scope will be decided together with the supervisors at the beginning of the thesis. What you will do: You will develop and evaluate a proof-of-concept AI-assisted tool for a selected radio product. The tool will help Ericsson engineers verify production test results against the governing requirements and identify deviations more efficiently. Your work will include: * Extracting and reconciling requirements from relevant specifications and test documentation * Comparing requirements with reported production test results * Detecting and reporting deviations * Providing traceability to the relevant source requirement * Combining AI-based interpretation with deterministic, rule-based checks * Preparing test cases with correct results and known or deliberately introduced deviations * Evaluating detection accuracy, false findings, traceability, repeatability, and reduction in manual effort * Documenting the solution, limitations, results, and recommendations The project will be carried out together with Ericsson engineers. For a two-student project, an optional extension related to verification or data consistency may also be included. The skills you bring: We are looking for a Master’s student who: * Is enrolled in a Master’s programme in Engineering Physics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Applied Machine Learning, or a related field * Has experience programming in Python * Is interested in applying AI to real industrial engineering challenges * Is willing to learn about production testing, radio products, and Ericsson’s technical processes * Can work independently and collaborate with supervisors and domain experts Knowledge of RF technology is considered an advantage.
