The Industry Ph.D. Program at Infineon: Earn your Ph.D. at a university while gaining professional experience—an ideal start to your career. The research is conducted in collaboration with Chemnitz University of Technology and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Bernhard Wunderle. Improved reliability and robustness of power semiconductor modules Determination of relevant material properties and factors influencing the materials You are passionate about research and want to combine academic excellence with industrial applications. You enjoy working in an international environment, communicate openly, and bring curiosity, initiative, and a strong interest in pursuing a collaborative Ph.D. in an industrial setting. Study field: A completed college degree in materials science, chemistry, physics, mechanical engineering, or a comparable field. You also meet the admission requirements for a Ph.D. program at a partner university Experience: In materials characterization, ideally with polymers and/or surface analysis Enthusiasm: For scientific work and a structured, data-driven approach Basic knowledge: In numerical simulation (FEM) of flow behavior or heat conduction Personality: Willingness to question the status quo and develop new approaches Communication skills: Excellent communication skills in German and English (spoken and written), as well as the ability to work effectively in a team to integrate into our R&D department and the research environment We are on a journey to create the best Infineon for everyone.
