Reference number REF 2026-0437

We are looking for a Doctoral student to join our team at the Division of Energy Technology (Dept. of Environmental and Energy Sciences).

Become part of our research group on fluidization and contribute to impactful research in carbon capture within a collaborative and dynamic environment.

About us

At we develop and analyse sustainable energy systems and advance technologies for energy conversion and climate mitigation. Through strong national and international collaboration, we unite experimental and theoretical research to create efficient, low-emission solutions, driving the transition towards carbon-neutrality in the energy and industry sectors.

About the research project

You will join FlexCSAR, an EU-project aiming to develop a flexible, adsorption-based technology for capturing CO₂ from flue gases. Unlike conventional liquid-solvent methods or fixed bed adsorption, FlexCSAR targets a gas-solids fluidized bed system. By being able to flexibly run on low-grade heat in combination with vacuum and heat pumps, FlexCSAR enables optimized operation based on the availability and prices of electricity and heat.

Who we are looking for

We search for candidates who are curious, collaborative, enjoy working in team, value clear communication, and are interested in carrying out rigorous research and developing their professional skills.

  • To qualify as a Doctoral student, you must have a Master's degree (masterexamen) of 120 credits or a Master’s degree (magisterexamen) of 60 credits* in a relevant field.
