Project summary

## Join our Team #### About the opportunity Ericsson Research develops innovative communication solutions, system concepts, and technologies that shape the mobile networks of today and tomorrow. By combining experience from real-world network operations with extensive knowledge of existing standards and forward-looking research, Ericsson Research contributes to the evolution of mobile radio communication from 5G to 6G and beyond. The Radio Research area focuses on advanced system and signal-processing solutions for radio-access networks, including multi-antenna technologies. As wireless services continue to support applications ranging from entertainment and extended reality to industrial automation and large-scale sensor networks, reliable and high-performing radio communication is becoming increasingly important. Measurement-based analysis of Over-the-Air (OTA) trials provides valuable insights into the performance of radio systems. Measurements from prototype testbeds and live networks help demonstrate new concepts, identify challenges, and guide the development of future radio-network technologies. #### What you will do The objective of this thesis is to analyse measurements from radio prototype systems and/or live networks. You will investigate radio characteristics and their impact on signal quality and other system-level aspects. During the thesis, you may: * Analyse OTA measurement data both qualitatively and quantitatively. * Investigate radio properties such as received signal power, interference, and channel conditions. * Study how these properties affect signal quality and system performance. * Analyse other relevant aspects, such as spatial directivity or data-traffic distribution. * Identify patterns and relationships in the measurement data. * Suggest improvements to existing features or methods based on your findings. * Present and communicate your results clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. The specific scope of the thesis may be adapted based on the candidate’s background and research interests. #### The skills you bring We are looking for a candidate who: * Is pursuing an MSc in Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. * Has a sound understanding of digital and wireless communications. * Is interested in algorithm development, data analysis, and testing. * Has strong programming skills in MATLAB, Python, or similar tools. * Has excellent mathematical knowledge. * Enjoys working closely with colleagues and collaborating towards common goals. * Communicates clearly and can explain technical findings and ideas to others. * Has strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Is eager to develop innovative solutions to challenging problems. * Is fluent in English.
