Master Thesis: Distributed scalable simulator

## Join our Team About this opportunity: We are seeking a talented Master's student to prototype and evaluate a massively distributed wireless system simulator. Current system simulations tend to contain the entire simulated system in a single machine which limits scalability. We would like to understand benefits and drawbacks of developing and running a massively parallel system simulator. What you will do: Develop a distributed wireless communications simulator prototype Design and prototype a system for launching, monitoring and terminating the simulator components in a Kubernetes cluster Evaluate key performance aspects of the simulator and the scalability aspects as a function of the simulated system size Provide understanding of the trade-offs between running on a single machine and in a massive cluster Document findings and prepare thesis with recommendations for further production Collaborate with engineering team to ensure technical feasibility The skills you bring: Required Skills and Qualifications Enrolled in or recently admitted to a Master's program in Computer Science, Electrical engineering or related field Programming skills in Python Solid technical writing and communication abilities Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail Preferred Qualifications Experience with containerization platforms and related tools, e.g. Docker and Kubernetes Wireless communication courses or experience Simulation engineering skills or similar Experience developing microservices for REST APIs What We Offer Mentorship from experienced engineers and a chance to work with large scale distributed systems.
