2027 call status — checked 9 October 2026: We could not verify a published 2027 call on the official ANSO scholarship page. It currently shows the 2026 results and call. Treat this page as a preparation guide until the official 2027 announcement is available.
What is the CAS-ANSO Scholarship?
The CAS-ANSO Scholarship supports international master’s and PhD study at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), and participating Chinese Academy of Sciences institutes. “ANSO Scholarship for Young Talents” is the programme’s earlier name.
ANSO Scholarship 2027 deadline
The 2027 opening date and deadline are not confirmed in the official sources checked for this guide. For reference only, the 2026 call opened on 15 October 2025 and closed on 31 January 2026, Beijing time. Those dates do not apply to the 2027 intake.
Funding: previous-cycle reference
Previous official guidance includes tuition and application fee waivers, health insurance and a stipend. Historical USTC guidance lists RMB 3,000 per month for master’s students and RMB 6,000–7,000 for PhD students, with conditions. These are reference amounts, not a confirmed 2027 offer. Check the new call for amounts, duration, assessments and travel conditions before budgeting.
Eligibility: what to check for 2027
The 2026 call required non-Chinese citizenship, proficiency in English or Chinese and compliance with USTC or UCAS admission requirements. It prohibited simultaneous CAS-ANSO applications to both universities. Confirm all rules again for 2027, especially exact birth-date cut-offs, degree requirements and restrictions on applicants already studying in China.
Do not assume a university English proficiency letter replaces IELTS or TOEFL for every programme. Check the selected university’s current language evidence rules. Contacting a supervisor can help you assess research fit; it does not guarantee admission or funding.

Apply through the university portal linked from the official call and select the scholarship option as instructed.
Check submission status and retain your confirmation and application reference.

Can I apply to USTC and UCAS at the same time?
The 2026 CAS-ANSO call prohibited applying to both simultaneously. Read the 2027 call before choosing your application route.
Is an acceptance letter enough to secure the scholarship?
No. Follow the university’s application and selection process. Supervisor interest alone is not a scholarship award.
